2008 Newville 1/10 Scale Nitro “Limited” 2wd Latemodel Class Rules

When reading rules below it is a good thing to realize that chances are if it is not mentioned here, it is not legal. Do not plan a defense of your latest concoction by saying "it doesn't say I can't do it". Save yourself and everyone else a lot of time by being realistic in what is expected and in the spirit of the rules.

The “Limited” Latemodel class is OPEN to all drivers

2wd- Rear Wheel Drive ONLY- single speed transmissions ONLY

  • Wheelbase minimum is 9.5", maximum is 11.5"
  • Maximum track width is 10.0"
  • Minimum weight is 56 oz.

Engines:

  • 12 O.S. TG Engines ONLY------- (NO MODIFICATIONS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED)
  • Only fuel, glow plugs, clutches and pipes may be changed in the “Limited” class. No altering of “head shims”, tampering with carburetor, bearings, etc, must be run as it came out of the box.
  • Management or a limited class racer who raced in the same Main with the subject can request an engine tear down. Management retains the right to deny a tear down. The source requesting the tear down must put up $20 for the subject's time and materials. The subject will tear down his own motor after the class's A-Main in front of track tech officials using his own tools. Only management, tech officials, the subject, and the person requesting the tear down will be present during the procedure. The vehicle may be impounded until the engine can be torn down. If the engine is found to be in violation of the engine rules or the subject rejects the request, the $20 tear down fee will be returned to the source and the above rule breaking consequences will result in forfeit of all “Limited” points and not participate in future “Limited” classes in the future at Newville R/C Speedway.
  • Max. Fuel tank capacity is 75cc (without insert), NO LARGE CAPACITY TANKS ALLOWED

Pipes:

  • No internal adjusting / moving parts, 6mm stinger opening MAXIMUM

Tires:

  • OPEN TIRE RULE, Rubber or Foam tires are permitted, All Latemodels must run tires on CAR/BUGGY wheels
  • No Production Slicks allowed
  • Front tires in the front and rear tires in the rear
  • Front width wheels in front, rear width wheel in rear
  • NO silicone or silicone impregnated tires are allowed
  • ABSOLUTLY NO GREASE, IF YOU ARE FOUND USING GREASE ON YOUR TIRES, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED

Body:

  • NO SIDE DAMS ALLOWED
  • Maximum rear spoiler chord is 3"including any molded in portion. A 1/4" wicker is allowed on top of spoiler in addition to the 3". A left and right side spoiler cap or side dam is allowed and can be no longer than 2" forward of spoiler base and no taller than top of spoiler.
  • Late model bodies may have openings for cylinder head, fuel tank access, glow plug, engine tuning, and exhaust outlets only.
  • No additional wings, spoilers, wickers, flaps, vents, doohickeys etc. can be added to body other than what is specifically mentioned above.
  • The body may not be altered in anyway from its stock configuration i.e.: shortened, lengthened, narrowed etc. Reasonable modification may be permitted to allow for cylinder head cooling only.
  • All cars must have 4 wheel independent suspensions, No straight axle cars allowed.
    The following bodies are the only bodies that are approved for use in the latemodel class.
